Halloween is a little over two weeks away, and who knows how it’s going to look this year. The world is in the middle of a pandemic, so 2020 has been pretty scary already. Halloween, however, is one of the most celebrated holidays, and many people are planning to make the best of it. One thing is for sure, this is a great time to show off a cool or creepy mask while still staying safe. Wicked reads like, The Year of the Witching, by Alexis Henderson, always create a spine-tingling mood, and this adorable board book, My Baby Loves Halloween, by Jabari Asim keeps it cute for the kiddies. Selections for Halloween themed books by Black authors are slim, very slim. In addition to the six middle-grade stories listed, go here and here for more reads to help conjure up a mood.
