KP Carter, #theliteracywhisperer, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. and the Master of Education degree from Kutztown State University in Kutztown, PA. She is a retired educator who spent many years as a classroom teacher, adjunct reading professor, Supervisor of Language Arts, and Director of Language Arts and Testing. Instilling the love literacy has always been at the forefront of all her endeavors.
Currently, Ms. Carter is the sole proprietor of KP Carter Writes LLC. She creates and publishes children’s books, presents engaging author visits at schools, churches, and local libraries, and conduct literacy workshops. Her program, 10 Steps to Reading Success Progressive Parents Promoting Literacy, is designed to help parents understand the importance of nurturing literacy and how to develop reading skills in the home.
