Chiquita Dotson is an educator and entrepreneur that has artfully crafted a collection of life experiences from the perspective of two fictional African-American girls. A native of New Jersey, Chiquita has her Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and her Master’s in Education from Mercy College in NYC. Before launching Jae and Gia, she worked directly with youth as a school teacher for the NYC and Newark Public School System. Chiquita is a full time mother and caregiver of a parent. Family is very important to her and she is passionate about having the freedom to create her own schedule. She currently helps young children meet their developmental milestones through the Early Intervention Program. Chiquita created an opportunity that affords her the time to care for her family and inspire young girls of the African diaspora through The Adventures of Jae and Gia.
